Nanotechnology and Nuclear Energy  
 
 

Nanotechnology engineering is a multi-disciplinary engineering field which simultaneously draws and benefits areas such as materials science and engineering, chemistry, physics and biology. Indeed, it is all about generating new solutions based on atomic and molecular scale manipulations. Nanotechnology deals with the purpose of science, technology and engineering to build up new materials and devices in different fields in Nano-range. Nanotechnology may be able to create many new materials and devices with a wide range of applications, such as in medicine, electronics, biomaterials and energy production. Nanotechnology considers fields of science such as surface science, organic chemistry, molecular biology, semiconductor physics, micro fabrication, etc.

Nuclear Energy is based on the principle of Nuclear Physics concerned with fission and fusion of atomic nuclei. Nuclear fission includes the maintenance of components like, nuclear power plants, nuclear weapons and nuclear reactors. Nuclear Engineering is concerned with the application of nuclear reactions and radiations for useful proposes. Nuclear engineers apply knowledge of atomic nuclei to design, build and operate special equipment that is useful to humanity. These applications fall into several broad categories, including fission power, radiation detection, nuclear medicine, nuclear materials and plasma science.

Nanotechnology engineers are employed in medical, healthcare industry research, pharmaceutical, agriculture, universities, private research institutes, educational institutes, entrepreneurial, research and development in government and interfacing of new technologies. Nanotechnology will be increasingly important during upcoming years and decades.

Nuclear engineers are employed in medical field, power plants and IT industries. Nuclear engineers research and develop the processes, instruments and systems used to get benefits from nuclear energy and radiation. Engineers also work with others to specialize in the development of nuclear power sources for ships or spacecraft. Engineers involve in designing nuclear equipment. Nuclear engineers working in fission support power for producing nuclear reactors.
