Geography deals with the study of the earth and its features and of the distribution of life on the earth, and also includes study of human life and the effects of human activity, structure, features, products, political division whom it is inhabited, people's responses to topography climate, soil, vegetation and earth's physical characteristics. Geography can be divided into two classes Physical Geography and Human Geography. Physical geography deals with the study of processes and patterns in the natural environment like the atmosphere, hydrosphere, biosphere and geosphere. Human geography deals with the study of the world, people, communities and cultures. Geography is all about the study of places and the relationships between people and their environment.

Graduates in Geography are known as Geographers, Geographers tend to study the surface of the earth, its landscapes, and its features. Geographers have four varying views on geography spatial analysis of natural, human phenomena, area studies and the science of earth. Geographers are involved in map interpretation and use, as well as map production and design. Geography provides numerous options for those who have a keen interest in subjects like countries, people, economy and climate.

Courses and Eligibility

1.Student must pass higher secondary education or 10+2 with science subjects to get    admission into bachelor’s degree program.

Employment

Graduates of Geography are employed in various government and research institutes as a Cartographer, Geographer are also employed in several private sector organization which use GIS and remote sensing technology and in NGOs and other developmental agencies. They can also start their career as a teacher in Colleges and universities. Many geographers pursue Careers in the earth sciences and environmental areas.
