Dairy Forming  

Dairy Forming is a farm where dairy products are produced. Dairy farms use modern milking parlors. Typically, these are operated by the farmer and his staff, although some are entirely automated to allow the cows to choose when they want to be milked. Dairy forming consists with the technical and quality control aspects of processing, storage, packaging, distribution, transportation and utilization of milk and milk products. Dairy forming includes breeding and care of milk cows and high yielding cattle and dairy industry produces a range of milk products such as milk, butter, cheese, ghee, condensed milk, powdered milk, yoghurt, etc.

Dairy forming can also be taken up as a main occupation around big urban centers where the demand for milk is high.Dairy Development Department of State Government and National Dairy Development Board would provide all supporting facilities particularly marketing of fluid milk.

1. Genetics and breeding.

2. livestock production.

3. Animal biotechnology .

4. Food technology and preservation.


Courses and Eligibility

1.Student must pass higher secondary education or 10+2 with science subjects to get    admission into bachelor’s degree program.

2. B.Sc. in (Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry)

3. B.Tech (Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry)

4. M.Sc. in Dairying



Graduates are employed in government and private sectors, National Dairy Development Board (NDDB), a multi-locational organization, milk product processing and manufacturing industries, rural based small dairy farmers. Graduates can start their own diary firms, ice-cream units.
