It includes algae, fungi, lichens, mosses, ferns, conifers and flowering plants. Botany is a branch of biology that is concerned with metamorphic functions classifications, nature and origin related to plants and also deals with the structure of plants, the functions of their parts, their places of growth their classification and reproduction, metabolism, development, diseases, ecology and evolution of plants.

Botany has differentiated the disciplines of Cytology, the study of the structure and reproduction of plant cells, Physiology the study of chemical and physical processes of plant life, such as photosynthesis, respiration and differentiation, Ecology, the study of relationships between plants and their environment. Graduates specialized in this field are known as botanists. Botanists who study interactions of plants with other organisms and the environment and in search to find new species or do experiments to discover how plants grow under different conditions as well as finding possible solutions to forestry and agricultural problems.
