Welding is a process of joining two materials through localized resulting from a suitable combination of temperature, pressure and metallurgical conditions. Welding Technology is the application of the art and science of joining metals. Welding technologists have important roles in the fabrication and construction of nuclear and fossil fuel power plants, heavy equipment, agricultural machinery, petro-chemical plants, bridges, buildings, floating and underwater vessels, automobiles, appliances, and projects for national security.

Professionals in this field are known as welders, who join metals by heating and melting the metal such as steel, aluminum, brass, and stainless steel. Welder use gas and electricity for welding purpose and also use many types of welding equipment set up in a variety of positions, such as flat, vertical, horizontal, and overhead.

Sheet Metal Technology is one of the fundamental forms used in metalworking to bend, and fold metal sheets into variety of different shapes of products. It involves the use of CAD, CAM and CNC metal cutting and forming equipment, moving away from predominantly hand forming techniques. There are many different metals that can be made into sheet metal, such as aluminum, brass, copper, steel, tin, nickel and titanium. Sheet metal also has applications in car bodies, airplane wings, medical tables, roofs for buildings (Architectural) and many other things.

Sheet metal workers are involved with the applications of all types of sheet metal including fabrication, installation and maintenance of heating, air conditioning and ventilating systems as well as gutters, roofing, siding equipment.

Courses and Eligibility

1. Student must pass higher secondary education or 10+2 with any subjects to get admission     into Diploma.

2. Diploma in Welding Technology.

3. Diploma in Sheet Metal Technology.



Graduates are employed in broad range of industries including construction, manufacturing and engineering, local government, Civil Service, electricity and water supply or the shipbuilding, telecommunications and broadcasting industries. Graduates are involved in creating design, plans for buildings and machinery.
