Diploma in Textile Engineering

Textile Engineering is a branch of engineering which deals with designing and manufacturing of textile fabrics and also deals with the study of chemical and physical principles, which are utilized for the analysis of the behavior of polymers involved in the formation of all kinds of textile fabric and yarns from textile fibers. Textile Engineering also includes mechanical, electrical, industrial and chemical engineering aspects. Textile engineering is concerned with the application of scientific principles and engineering practices to the wide-ranging aspects of textile processes, products and machinery, including synthetic fibers, interactions of fibers and fabrics, safety and health, pollution control and energy management.

Textile engineering is an innovative field. It involves the creative research, study and exploration of new techniques for production and improvisation. Textile Engineering consists of two sectors, handloom sector and the mechanized sector which plays important role and it includes with the knowledge of the behavior of textile materials and the functions of machinery in textile and clothing technologies.

Specialty area of Textile Engineering

1. Technical Textiles

2. Textile Materials

3. Coloration Technology

4. Yarn and Non-woven Technology

5. Knitting and Knit CAD, Weaving and Weave CAD
