Telecommunications engineering is a branch of engineering that comes under Electrical engineering. Telecommunication engineering includes electronics, civil, structural and electrical engineering as well as little bit of accounting and a lot of project management. A telecommunication engineer is responsible for designing and installation of telecommunications equipment and facilities, such as complex electronic switching systems, copper telephone facilities and fiber optics. Telecommunications engineers handle different types of technology that help us to communicate and use a variety of equipment and transport media.


Telecommunication Engineering gives wide range knowledge of telecommunication devices such as cable TV, satellites, navigation, computer networking, mobile phones, radar and aviation. Telecommunication Engineers mainly deal with wireless communication or radio communication.

Courses and Eligibility

1. Student must pass higher secondary education or 10+2 with any subjects to get admission     into Diploma.

2. Diploma in Electrical Engineering.

3. Diploma in Telecommunication Engineering.

Telecommunication Engineers are employed in IT industries, Telephone industry, computer industry, microwave radio systems, satellite communications, earth stations using satellite dishes, cellular phone industry, fiber optics communication systems, Government sectors and they can also do their own business. Telecommunication engineers design, build and manage systems that carry out the transmission processing and storage of information as electrical or optical signals. Telecommunication Engineers are employed in information and broadcasting sectors, railways, police, BSF, CRPF and defense related organizations. Telecommunication engineers have always been in great demand because of the growing of digital and wireless communication networks.


Graduates can join Bachelor degree of Engineering after completion of Diploma in related subject (3 years).
