Diploma in Mining Engineering

Mining Engineering is concerned with the discovery, development and exploitation of coal, ores and minerals, as well as the cleaning, sizing and dressing of the product. Mining Engineering is also known as mineral engineering. Mining Engineering also involves in extraction of Minerals from nature of environment .The function of the mining engineer is to apply knowledge of engineering fundamentals and improved technology to recover natural resources.

The mining Engineering technique involves blasting, production, processing, drilling, marketing, extraction and development also with the mitigation of damage to the environment as a result of that production and processing. Mining engineers will have the knowledge about the underground and opencast of coal or ore mining and are engaged in finding, extracting and preparing coal, metals, and minerals for the manufacturing and utility industries and also responsible for the safe, low cost and environmentally sound operation of mines.

Specialty areas of Mining Engineering

1. Mine Cost Engineering

2. Mine Health and Safety

3. Environmental Aspects of Mining

4. Design of Engineering Structures

5. Rock Mechanics

6. Mine Planning & Designing

7. Materials Handling

8. Drilling and Blasting

9. Minerals Processing

10. Ore Reserve Analysis

Courses and Eligibility

1. Student must pass higher secondary education or 10+2 with any subjects to get     admission into Diploma.

2. Diploma in Mining Engineering.

Employment

Mining Engineers are employed in Mining industries for management and operation purpose. Engineers work as consulting engineer, rock engineering, mining manager and mining designer. Engineers work with geologist in discovery and verifying mineral ores. Engineers are involved in Mining operation like blasting process, surface mining. Mining engineering is having most career options and growth opportunities in India.
