Metallurgical engineering is a scientific study of the extraction, refining, alloying and fabrication of metals and of their structure and properties. It also involves with the study of chemical and physics activities of metallic elements. Metallurgy engineering has modern application demanding materials with high strength-low weight along with other factors. Metallurgical engineering comprises the application of technology to metals and Professionals in this field of engineering are known as Metallurgist.

The three main branches of this major are Physical metallurgy, Extractive metallurgy, and Mineral processing.

Physical metallurgy deals with problem solving, you’ll develop the sorts of metallic alloys needed for different types of manufacturing and construction.

Extractive metallurgy involves extracting metal from ore.

Mineral processing involves gathering mineral products from the earth’s crust.

Courses and Eligibility

1. Student must pass higher secondary education or 10+2 with any subjects to get admission     into Diploma.

2. Diploma in Metallurgy Engineering.



Graduates are employed in government and private industries and enterprise that manufacture metals or metallic products, metal extraction and processing units, construction companies, foundries, heat treatment shops, electrical companies and heavy manufacturing enterprises.

Graduates can join Bachelor degree of Engineering in Mechanical after completion of Diploma in related subject (3 years).
