Diploma in Ceramics Technology

Ceramic technology deals with manufacturing of objects by heating process and with chemical solutions using inorganic materials. Ceramic technology includes designing, developing and manufacture of products using raw materials. Ceramic technology is concerned with different fields like Electrical, Medical and computer and the major functions of Ceramic Engineers are research, product development and production engineering.

Ceramic technology consists of ceramic materials which deal with many applications on Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering. The products of ceramic are Computer chips, fiber optics, joint replacements, CD DVDs, VCRs, phone lines, space shuttle tiles, safety glass windshields, bone implants, medical electronic equipment, airbag sensors, spark plugs, piston rings, bricks, cement, missiles, capacitors, resistors, electronic components, TV components, magnets, laser communications.

Specialty areas of Ceramics Engineering

1. Ceramic Materials

2. Composite Materials

3. Electronic Materials

4. Materials Science

5. Metallurgical Engineering

6. Polymeric Materials (plastics, synthetic rubbers and fibers, films, etc.)

Courses and Eligibility

1. Student must pass higher secondary education or 10+2 with any subjects to get admission     into Diploma.

2. Diploma in Ceramics Engineering.

Ceramic Engineers are employed in IT industries, Private Companies and in Government Industries. The Ceramic Engineers work varies from job to job according to the specialty and place of employment. A ceramic engineer is a materials specialist who focuses on the use of ceramics in the production of products ranging from heat-resistant tiles on spacecraft to fiber optic cable. These engineers can work in a lab environment to develop new materials and improve existing ones, in addition to finding new uses for existing products and components.

Graduates can join Bachelor degree of Engineering after completion of Diploma in related subject (3 years).
