Biotechnology Engineering is a combination of technologies such as living cells and their molecules and it has wide range of practice and the use of this technology can improve lives. Biotechnology is application of organism, cellular, subcellular or molecular components in order to provide goods, services and environmental management. The biotechnology concept involves a wide range of procedures for modifying living organisms according to requirements of human beings like domestication of animals, cultivation of plants etc.

Biotechnology includes genetics, microbiology, animal cell culture, molecular biology, biochemistry, embryology, cell biology and in many instances it is also dependent on Knowledge and methods from outside the sphere of biology. Biotechnology is concerned with application such as developing various medicines, vaccines and diagnostics, increasing productivity, improving energy production and conservation. Bio-Technology is all about the use of living things, especially cells and bacteria in industrial process

Special Branches of Bio- Technology

Bioinformatics is an interdisciplinary field which addresses biological problems using computational techniques and makes the rapid organization and analysis of biological data possible.

Green biotechnology is biotechnology applied to agricultural processes.

Red biotechnology is applied to medical processes. Some examples are the designing of organisms to produce antibiotics and the engineering of genetic cures through genetic manipulation.

White biotechnology, also known as industrial biotechnology, is biotechnology applied to industrial processes. An example is the designing of an organism to produce a useful chemical.

Courses and Eligibility

1. Student must pass higher secondary education or 10+2 with any subjects to get admission     into Diploma.

2. Diploma in Biotechnology.



Bio-Technology students are employed in industry, in hospitals, in research department of educational and medical institutions and in government regulatory agencies, biotechnology companies or biotech-related companies such as pharmaceutical firms, food manufacturers, aquaculture and agricultural companies. Graduates are involved in performance testing of new or proposed products in research institutions.

Graduates can join Bachelor degree of Engineering after completion of Diploma in related subject (3 years).
