Diploma in Aeronautical Engineering  
 
 

Aeronautical Engineering deals with the designing, construction, testing aircraft, missiles and spacecraft. Aerospace engineers are concerned with the study of physical properties of rockets, spacecraft, flying craft and aircraft, most offered academic programs are in Aerospace Engineering.


Aeronautical engineers develop newer, safer, more energy-efficient and economical methods for travel including airplanes, helicopters, missiles, satellites and spacecraft. Aeronautical engineering is a field of the engineering sciences that are highly catalyst and related to the field of space and aircraft such as planes and space shuttles. Engineers develop designs, tests missiles, aircrafts and satellites using computer technology. Aeronautical engineering is also known as Aerospace Engineering. Engineers may conduct basic and applied research to evaluate adaptability of materials and equipment to aircraft design and manufacture.

Specialty areas of Aeronautical Engineering

Structural design: Designing the body of the aircraft includes shape testing, manufacturing materials selection, strength and structural modeling.


Flight mechanics and control systems: Studying and modeling the performance of an aircraft control systems and testing of aircraft.


Aerodynamics: Study of aerodynamic forces of moving aircraft.


Instrumentation and communication: Designing and improving performance of aircraft components and systems.


Manufacturing and maintenance: Supervising construction of aircraft. Aerospace Propulsion

Courses and Eligibility

1. Student must pass higher secondary education or 10+2 with any subjects to get admission     into Diploma.

2. Diploma in Aeronautical Engineering.

3. Diploma in Aerospace Engineering.

4. Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.

 

Employment

Students of Aeronautical Engineering are employed in IT companies and government owned enterprises such as ISRO (Indian Space Research Organization), DRDO (Defense Research and Development Organization), HAL (Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd.), NAL (National Aeronautics Labs), etc. Aerospace engineering offers a wide range of roles in research, design, development, testing, manufacture and maintenance of aircraft, missiles and spacecraft.


Graduates can join Bachelor Degree of Engineering after completion of Diploma in related subject (3 years).
